Verification timeout with Element X #1476

On continuwuity v0.5.5 with almost default configuration (except server_name, unix_socket_path, and well_knowns), I can't get the emoji verification process to complete without issue with Element X.

To reproduce:

Create 2 users on a fresh new continuwuity instance, one connected with Element Web, the other one with Element X
Create a DM room between the 2
Start verification (from either users)
Complete the verification process
Notice Element Web displays the green shield confirmation, but Element X is waiting indefinitely

After restarting Element X, both users seems properly verified.

It works fine with Fluffychat instead of Element X, or with synapse instead of continuwuity.
