@Didi reports that they are unable to use a mautrix bridge over federation:

when I tried DM'ing the bot from my synapse acc it didnt respond. Sometimes when I added it to an existing room it would join. May be because of a local member that was there

The Mautrix permissions were configured correctly. No logs are available.
