Must have a relatively small database to test this, otherwise (as per next issue) even opening a second --read-only shell becomes impossible or exceedingly rare, due to the probability of WAL misses increasing toward 1 as the number of sst and log files increases.

ugggh cool that the issue was resolved on the surface, but not sure i'm happy read-only was removed outright. But we definitely have bigger fish to fry, I read thru the sprint map again and think my heart started palpitating.
